Hello fellow students from University of London, UOL :)
UOL Introduction to Economics (EC1002) is a subject that requires more than the regurgitation and memorising of tutorial and past year paper solutions. Many UOL students are struggling with the subject largely due to three reasons:
- Firstly, a lack of understanding of the economics concepts covered in lectures - the tutor will break down complex concepts to easy to understand bits.
- Secondly, some students do understand the concepts but when they attempt tutorial and exam questions, they just seem to fail terribly (ever felt this way?) - this is a failure to apply the concepts and content learnt onto their answers. Our lessons are designed to provide the relevant training to help students learn critical exam skills.
- Thirdly, the habit of procrastination! Students need to understand that the concepts across various topics are closely interlinked and it is therefore crucial that they keep up consistently with the syllabus content.
The tutor specializes in teaching UOL Economics modules and is able to identify gaps in understanding very quickly. As such, he is able to devise effective and efficient strategies to help his students to perform well for the UOL Introduction to Economics examination :)

Our exam focused lessons are structured according to the latest UOL Introduction to Economics examination format and syllabus.
Concise and thorough explanations!Students can never apply microeconomics and macroeconomics concepts to UOL Introduction to Economics exam questions if they do not understand them in the first place. The tutor does not believe in "memorising the concepts" blindly which sadly, is what many students do before engaging him to teach them. Our tutor uses his unique teaching methodology to explain and simplify complicated concepts in a systematic and concise manner while retaining the depth of understanding for his students. This eliminates a major fear for the subject for his students.
Exam Focused Notes and Mindmaps! The tutor understands that for the learning process to be effective, students need to constantly review what they have learnt. To facilitate this, he has developed exam focused notes and well-structured mind-maps which are tools for revision that are thorough in the explanation of critical concepts for the UOL Introduction to Economics examination.
Sharpening your Thought Process through 'What If' Scenarios!UOL Introduction to Economics exam questions are rarely repeated. Hence, it is essential for students to not just practice past year papers blindly without understanding the concepts and praying hard for similar questions to appear in your exam. The tutor will modify exam questions to create 'What If' scenarios to illustrate possible ways in which the examiners can tweak the questions to get you to put on your thinking cap - so that you will not be caught by surprise during the actual exam.
Additional Question Banks! The tutor understands that there are limited past year papers and sample exam papers for students to practice due to a major change in the UOL Introduction to Economics syllabus. As such, he has compiled sets of additional question banks which are in line with the latest syllabus to expose his students to a wider variety of questions in preparation for the UOL Introduction to Economics exam.
